Entrepreneur and investor in the field of Life Sciences. He had a 25-year career at Eli Lilly and Company where he held executive positions in Business Development and Information Technology. He lived in the USA for more than 15 years.
He is the Founder and General Partner of Columbus Venture Partners, a management company that has more than €115 M under management through 2 funds in the Biotech Sector. He is the current CEO for Viralgen Vector Core, one of the world leaders in the manufacturing of gene therapy. He is also the Founder of the Fundación Columbus (in Spain) and Columbus Children´s Foundation (in the USA), non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting the development and access to gene therapy and other innovative technologies for children in the field of ultra rare diseases and oncology.
Javier García-Cogorro is a board Member of Artax Biopharma, Askbio Biopharmaceuticlas, Bioncotech Therapeutics, and Vivet Therapeutics. Also he serves as a trustee at the National Alliance for Hispanic Health in Washington DC. Mr. García holds a Bachelor in Mathematics (Statistics and Operations Research) from Universidad Complutense of Madrid and he got an MBA from ICADE in Madrid.
